  • Happy Thanksgiving to those few who might be reading this.  I hope you have a great one and I hope all of you get stuffed...on...foood...I mean...

  • Well, I'm just popping in to see what's going on.  I hate to see it, but it looks like not much.  I can't be too mad about it, since I haven't contributed much here in a looong time.  But I remember having much love for this place and pretty much a Xanga family. If you're still lurking around, give me a holler.

  • CrossFit

I have been very seriously into CrossFit lately.  I started doing it last Weds and today was my seventh day doing it.  I never have been this serious about a workout and keeping a workout schedule before.  Right now I'm shooting for going every weekday.  That means waking up for the 6am class on Mondays and Tuesdays.  I've also been sticking fairly close to the Paleo-diet.

Anyone interested in getting fit, no matter what your starting fitness level, I recommend CrossFit in a major way.  Every day there is a different Workout of the Day (WoD).  Unless you check the webpage, you never know what the workout is until you get to the gym.  Every workout is tough, scaled to the fitness level of the member, and you leave there feeling like you accomplished something.  Check out www.crossfit.com if you want to see what it is all about.  If you have a local CrossFit affiliate, I recommend going and checking out whatever trial period they offer.  I guarantee you'll fall in love with it.  It's hard as hell, but it's a real workout.  It's too early to see any noticeable results, except for one.  I feel a lot better about myself.  I also find the day is a lot easier knowing I just got through the workout.

  • NEW LOOK FOR THE CHALLENGER & A NIGHT OUT FOR WINGS

Well, it's been awhile, once again.  Lots has happened.  But most of it seems just routine.  One of the biggest things for me was that I got my new shaker hood painted and installed.  I thought I'd share some photos.

Every Wednesday night we go to Buffalo Wild Wings and partake in the beery goodness there.  In fact, the pictures above were taken in the parking lot.  What's cool, is that we're getting a number of fellow Challenger owners to join us.  So far I've gotten three others to come along, but no more than two of them at one time.

I've been communicating with Kelly, the salesman who sold me my Challenger.  He's a genuinely nice guy and we have a lot in common.  He's been really interested in the mods I've been doing to the car.  When he saw the hood he was speechless.  He came to Wild Wings with his wife and wanted a photo with the car.

It was a great time.  I'm glad I brought my camera.

  •  FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND

Well, we went up to Hill Country for the 4th of July.  We left Thurs evening and it's a five to six hour drive.  On Friday we went to Luckenbach and Fredericksburg and hung out at the deer lease.  On Saturday we tubed down the Comal River.  Sunday, of course, we made out way back, plus an extra hour or so driving due to unknown traffic problems on the way.

(above)  This is the cabin on the deer lease.  If I remember correctly, the deer lease encompasses over 800 acres.  But we generally only stay on the section above as none of us hunt.

(below)  Various shots of the deer lease and its surroundings.

Luckenbach...The guy below kind of startled us.  I never saw a dude riding a longhorn before.

I finally found my drinking hat.  And it did a great job keeping the sun off my face and neck during the whole trip also.

(below)  We did some shooting on Friday.  The scope was so low-slung that it was actually more difficult to shoot.  I also got stung by a wasp shortly after this photograph.

I didn't get any photos on the river.  Obviously I couldn't bring my camera with me.  Mikey had some waterproof disposable cameras.  Hopefully there will be some good pics from them soon.

  • Wow, it's been a whole month since I posted.  That is strange.  I guess I've been so busy working that I haven't found the time.  And I've been kind of obsessive on the Challenger forum I frequent.  I really haven't even had much time aside to play video games, so you KNOW I've been busy in that case.  I do make it here and look at what you all have posted.  I'm not far off and will post something real here shortly.

  • BRIEF STUFF

Basically, I worked late last night at Crockett St (the clubbing area of town).  I came home to find the air conditioning was broken.  So should be a fun day at work.  Less time to sleep and less sleep during that time.

  • I painted the brakes on my car.  I think it looks pretty awesome.  I know this has turned into a car blog lately.  But that's because all I've really been doing is working.

  • Sorry it's been awhile since my last post.  I was gone for a week and my mother didn't have internet set up.  The few times I did gain access to the web I was checking email and the like.  I've been quite busy otherwise.  Florida was okay.  It was only sunny one day while I was there.  The rest of the time it was either severely raining or very overcast.  I did make it for a short beach jaunt the sunny day.  I took minimal photos.  First were with my cell phone, but I bought a new digital camera while I was there.  But, still, I am bad about taking photos.

    The trip:

The Challenger handled like a champ.  It was the most comfortable cross-country drive I've been on.  And having Sirius and GPS navigation was really cool.  I was able to keep it in cruise control the majority of the was and got about 25 MPG, which is damn good for a V8 muscle car.

At the Florida Welcome Center on IH-10.  I thought I needed to get out and stretch my legs since I was on the final stretch.  Lots of bug guts on the windshield and the front hood and bumper.

The beach was red-flagged due to riptides.  But it was pleasant just to walk along it and get the feet wet.  It was a beautiful day.  Like I said, one of the few beautiful days I had there.
